Your youngster’s imagination will run free as we chase Brer Rabbit, turn into the trickster spider Anansi and work the railroad with Paul Bunyan. We’ll perform these classic stories using music, movement and dramatics, bringing them to life for a showcase performance at the end of our whirlwind week of theatre fun!
STAGES’ most popular summer workshop returns! Whether you have a new or returning student, this is the perfect chance for singers, actors and dancers to have fun building musical theatre skills. Over the two weeks the class will produce scenes and songs from family favorites.

Take a trip through time as you learn about and perform material from different eras of American musical theatre. We’ll start with the first “modern” musical SHOW BOAT, progress to standards such as the classic GUYS AND DOLLS and follow the evolution through contemporary hits such as HAIRSPRAY and WICKED. A fun, challenging and educational three weeks of theatre!
Whether you’ve participated in this workshop before or are new to the experience, serious musical theatre students will investigate the art of musical theatre performance and benefit from hands-on experience with professional instructors. You’ll analyze songs as monologues and discover unique vocal, character and movement choices–a perfect experience for students looking to improve their audition repertoire or general performance skills. (Prior musical theatre experience required.)
While continuing to emphasize the development of each student’s musical theatre talents, the Broadway Performance Workshops also place emphasis on the rehearsal and production process. Students will be immersed each day in a challenging curriculum of acting, voice and dance classes taught by professional directors and choreographers. These same educators will then cast and stage the production, providing a performance outlet for techniques learned in daily class sessions.

Let your child explore the world of the performing arts with this fun and highly interactive approach to some traditional and unique stories. In this two-week workshop your child will use movement, music and dramatic activities to create new worlds and build important motor and communication skills—all while developing the art of performing. Stories on Stage is a great way to open up your child's imagination and spirit of creativity!
Returning for its fourth summer! Students will sing and dance their way through new musical theatre material in this popular, fun-filled and creative workshop. Daily drama, music and dance sessions will develop students’ performing talents while also refining important motor and communication skills—all in a positive and supportive environment. Then get your cameras ready as the students take to the stage to perform their end-of-session musical theatre revue!
