Twenty-one years ago STAGES ST. LOUIS
was a dream just beginning to take shape. In 1987, the
company was founded on a commitment to nurturing the
indigenous American art form of musical theatre. STAGES
has since become one of the pre-eminent professional
musical theatre companies in our region and is now poised
for the next stage of growth.

Our mission is to build the leading
performing arts center for musical theatre performance
and education in the Midwest. The STAGES ST. LOUIS Performing
Arts Center and Academy will lead a cultural renaissance
in our community and create a legacy for future generations.
STAGES is in the midst of an ambitious $31 million capital campaign to create
this new home for our artistic and education programs.
Through the generous gift of 7.5 acres of land by Sachs
Properties, Inc., we now have a site for our future home
in Chesterfield, Missouri, at the intersection of Chesterfield
Parkway West and Interstate 64/Highway 40.

The STAGES ST. LOUIS Performing Arts Center and Academy
is being designed by renowned theatre architects Pellham
Phillips of Springfield, Missouri. The 83,000-square
foot complex will include a 730-seat main stage theatre,
a 200-seat second theatre and a year round performing
arts academy offering classes in voice, dance, and drama
for children and adults.

Performances at the STAGES ST. LOUIS Performing Arts
Center will welcome nearly 200,000 patrons each year,
employ more than 100 local theatre professionals, and
generate a surge of new business to area restaurants,
shops, and hotels. At the STAGES Performing
Arts Academy, learning will be an active and joyful process
designed to awaken creativity and inspire expression
in students of all ages.
