STAGES ST. LOUIS Announces Position Appointments in

Development and Marketing Departments

STAGES ST. LOUIS is happy to announce three new additions to the administrative staff. Gary Mudd, CPA assumed the position of Development Director in January of this year, Eric Pugh recently began as Marketing Director and Susan Mintz has assumed the position of Assistant Development Director for the theatre.

New York Theatre Critic To Perform One-Man Show at STAGES

STAGES ST. LOUIS will host Peter Filichia, veteran New York theatre critic, columnist and author for a special event on Saturday, July 31 at 1:00 pm at the Robert G. Reim Theatre in Kirkwood.

One Man. Many Cards. Many More Memories. Mr. Filichia will appear in his humorous and compelling one-man retrospective on a life in the American Theater. With a stack of cards containing theatre memories from over five decades, he will share both personal and classic eye-opening tales of musicals, plays and celebrities dating back to the late 1950s in this unforgettable one time only event. A special question and answer session will follow Mr. Filichia’s presentation.

STAGES ST. LOUIS Hosts Benefit for Education Programs August 9

STAGES ST. LOUIS is proud to welcome back the popular musical cabaret duo of St. Louis actor Ben Nordstrom and STAGES Executive Producer Jack Lane for a one night only performance on Monday, August 9 at 7:30 pm.

A benefit for the education and outreach programs STAGES provides to the community. Ben and Jack Together Again – An Encore is a romantic and humorous homage to the supper club acts of the 1950s, and will take you back to a time when a song told a story and classic cabaret singing was in its prime.

STAGES ST. LOUIS Presents Promises, Promises

Stages St. Louis continues its 2010 season with Promises, Promises in Kirkwood from July 16 – August 15. Combine Burt Bacharach and Hal David, one of the best songwriting teams of the 20th Century, with America’s funniest playwright Neil Simon and the end result is the endlessly entertaining Promises, Promises.

STAGES is known for bringing Broadway-quality musical theatre to St. Louis, and Promises, Promises continues with this tradition. St. Louis is a buzz with the only licensed professional production of this show outside of New York making its way to STAGES.

STAGES ST. LOUIS Presents Big River

Stages St. Louis will open its 2010 season with “Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” at The Robert G. Reim Theatre in Kirkwood from May 28 – June 27.  Bursting from the pages of Mark Twain’s classic novel “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” this Tony Award-winning musical is filled with humanity, wisdom and a homespun humor all its own.

STAGES ST. LOUIS Wins 6 Kevin Kline Awards

Stages St. Louis was honored Monday evening with 6 Kevin Kline Awards, including receiving the highest honor in the category of “Outstanding Production of a Musical” – twice! Their productions of The Drowsy Chaperone and Guys and Dolls tied for this award.

STAGES ST. LOUIS Receives 27 Kevin Kline Award Nominations

Stages St. Louis was recognized today with 27 Kevin Kline Award nominations, the most it has ever received in one year, for all four of its 2009 productions.  STAGES was the top recipient of total nominations for the Awards, which honor professional theatre in the St. Louis area.  The 5th Annual Kline Awards Ceremony will be held Monday, March 22 at the Loretto-Hilton Center on the campus of Webster University.

STAGES ST. LOUIS Celebrates Success at APPLAUSE! 2009

Stages St. Louis announced today that its eighth annual gala auction, APPLAUSE! 2009, raised proceeds of $272,000 this past Friday. This year’s numbers come on the heels of a difficult economic year for the arts community, but one that saw success at STAGES with ticket revenues holding steady at nearly 1.7 million dollars and the American regional premiere of The Drowsy Chaperone, which went on to become the best selling show in STAGES history.

STAGES ST. LOUIS Announces 2010 Season

STAGES ST. LOUIS proudly announces its 24th season! The adventure begins in the year 1839 in Hannibal, Missouri with the Tony Award-winning musical Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, continues as we jet to New York's Madison Avenue in the 1960s with Neil Simon's Promises, Promises, and ends with true romance on the midway in 1940s Iowa in State Fair. In addition, the 2010 season for Theatre for Young Audiences presents Disney’s The Arisotocats, beginning August 4.  The season kicks off May 28 and runs through October 3.
